Mrs. Cathy Jean Varnadore Shepherd

January 13, 1949 - March 14, 2022

Cathy Jean Varnadore Shepherd, 73, passed away with her family by her side March 14, 2022, at her oldest son's, Stan, home in North Little Rock, AR. She was born January 13, 1949, in DeWitt, AR. She attended school in DeWitt, and after graduating, married Stanley Laron (Ronnie) Shepherd. She always worked in the family businesses -duck guiding, logging, Shepherd's Grocery, DeWitt Flying Service, and RonCat Trucking. Cathy was very involved in her community and church, First United Methodist Church. She was the candy lady at church and made sure everyone had a piece of candy before church started. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Stanley Laron (Stan) Shepherd, Jr. and Annette of North Little Rock and Lanny Carl Shepherd and Katelin of Little Rock; two grandchildren, who she dearly loved, Lexi and Tate of Little Rock; sister Debby Bowlin (Scott) of DeWitt; two brothers Gray Varnadore (Amy) of Mt. View and Johnny Varnadore (Linda) of Higden; sister-in-law Cathy Austin of DeWitt; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 March 17 at First United Methodist Church with burial in Forks LaGrue Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.
