Mr. Roland Oliver Clawson

Roland Oliver Clawson, 89, of Tichnor passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at his home. Roland was born to John Anderson and Maudie Mae Clawson on December 19, 1929. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lois Clawson; son Wayne Clawson; daughter Linda Williams; and granddaughter Amber Williams. Roland is survived by his children Sherry Childers of Gillett, Bobby Clawson (Valerie) of Tichnor, Levenna Gray (Jim) of Cabot, John Clawson (Stacey) and Allen Clawson (Reba) both of Tichnor; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was an original member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Roland retired after 35 years of government service as a lock operator. He loved to hunt, fish, garden, and just spend time in the outdoors. Most of all he loved the Lord and spending time with his family. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 11 at Bonner's Chapel Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
