Mrs. Vera Louise Sherman Miller

September 24, 1940 - February 14, 2022

Vera Louise Sherman Miller, 81, of DeWitt passed away on February 14, 2022. She was born September 24, 1940, in Bayou Meto to Elmer Sherman and Helen James Reed. Vera graduated from DeWitt High school in 1958. She was a retired LPN and was a member of Hagler Baptist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, was secretary/treasurer of the Bayou Meto Cemetery, and was active in many other community activities. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Sherman and Helen Reed; and her husband, Billy Miller. Vera is survived by her children Suzette Miller (wade Powell) of Hot Springs, Mikki Milliken (Kevin), Billy Miller II (Donna), and Scott Miller (Nancy Jo) all of DeWitt; four grandchildren Ty Simpson (Tosha), Payton Miller, Bailey Bingham (Justin), and Tiffani Burns (Damon); seven great grandchildren; one brother Jimmy Sherman (Linda) of Pine Bluff; and her best friend and COVID companion, Denise Miller. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 February 16 at Hagler Baptist Church with funeral services at 2:00. Burial will follow in Bayou Meto Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hagler Baptist Church, 585 Hwy. 276, Stuttgart, AR 72160 or Bayou Meto Cemetery, c/o Southern Bancorp, P.O. Box 511, DeWitt, AR 72042.
