Mr. Walter Lee Trussell

May 24, 1924 - October 2, 2019

Walter Lee Trussell, 95, died in his daughter's home Wednesday, October 2, 2019. He was born in Point DeLuce, AR, on May 24, 1924 to Henry Alvin Trussell and Hattie Davis Trussell. He was a life long resident of DeWitt, and was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and trapping. A mink in his trap meant lots of Christmas presents under the tree. He killed his last deer at age 90. All of the grandchildren remember him taking them riding on his four wheeler and trying to beat him at checkers and dominoes while eating his peanut butter cookies. Life was fun at his house and he was always up for an adventure. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years,Gladys Wood Trussell;two brothers Charles Henry Trussell and Lee Roy Dunn; three sisters Vera Mae Jenkins, Audra Bell Jenkins, and Lorraine Prater. Survivors include two daughters Mary Ann Johnson and son-in-law Jimmy R. Johnson of Stuttgart and Betty June Ingram of O'Fallon, MO; five grandchildren Donna Galloway (Neal), Dwayne Johnson (Amy), Scott Johnson (Elizabeth), Justin Ingram, and Jennifer Ingram; and eight great grandchildren Rachael Goodwin (David), Rebecca Ellington (Jack), Robin Galloway, Nicholas and Olivia Johnson, Dalton and Kathrine Johnson, Dion and Rico Ingram. Funeral services will be 11:00a.m. Saturday, October 5 at Unity Missionary Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00a.m.
