Ms. Laura Ann Houser

Laura Ann Houser, beloved daughter of Larry and the late Patricia Wilhite Houser, was born on January 28, 1974, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She peacefully passed away on June 3, 2024, in Clarendon. Laura's journey through life was one marked with love, strength, and resilience. At the tender age of 17, Laura crossed paths with Carl Christian, thanks to a dear friend. Their love blossomed swiftly, leading to a beautiful union on April 11, 1995, in Clarendon. For 23 years, Laura and Carl shared a life filled with joy, laughter, and the arrival of two precious sons. Although life's path had different plans for Laura and Carl, they remained steadfast friends throughout the years, united by the bond of their shared history and enduring love for their family. Laura's educational journey began in Little Rock and continued through high school in Clarendon. When studies came to an end, she embraced the role of a homemaker with grace. Laura found her true calling as a mother and grandmother and her legacy of love will endure through the generations she touched. Beyond her family, Laura's vibrant spirit shone through her hobbies and interests. She had a passion for country music, with Reba McEntire's songs often filling her home with joy. Laura's fascination with dolphins was well-known, as she delighted in collecting dolphin memorabilia and even adorned herself with a small dolphin tattoo—a symbol of her free spirit and love for these majestic creatures. During times of worship Laura enjoyed attending the First Assembly of God Church in Clarendon. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May your spirit soar, Laura, as you dance in a realm of eternal peace and love. Laura was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Houser, whose memory she cherished dearly. Laura is survived by her father, Larry Houser of Texas, two sons, Brandon Christian (Maria) of Monroe and Jonathan Christian (Savana) of Clarendon, who held a special place in her heart. She leaves behind her brother Donald Houser (Amanda) of Searcy, and her sister Patricia Ferrell (Sam) of Searcy,, as well as her six cherished grandchildren: Jonathan, Hanna, Carlynn, Brandon Jr., Faith Ann, and Walker Gage Christian. A memorial service was held June 15.
